The People Behind the Mission
A Little Bit About Rusty…
Rusty Ricketson (President and Founder of Foundation of the Faith) is an outdoorsman, author, teacher, pastor, husband, and father. Native to the State of Georgia, Rusty has taught not only across the county, but internationally; helping others become better leaders and followers while also guiding others to create positive church growth in their own communities.
Coupled with over 30 years of ministry experience (starting two churches; serving as senior pastor for 18 years) and his wide range of academic expertise, Rusty is able to blend academic insight with the practical application of one who has experienced ministry at the ground level. He is currently Professor of Leadership at Luther Rice College and Seminary in Atlanta, Georgia. He also serves as the Coordinator of the Master of Arts in Leadership program.
Rusty founded Foundation of the Faith in 2002 to develop followers of Christ who will impact the world. He has also written three books, Forgive and Forgive Again, Followerfirst: Rethinking Leading in the Church and CATCH: The Leadership Game Everyone Can Play.
An avid outdoorsman, Rusty enjoys hunting, fishing and backpacking. He has hiked over 1000 miles on the Appalachian Trail. With a dependence upon the Holy Spirit and an energetic and humorous approach, Rusty facilitates learning and encourages those who hear him. He and his wife, Sharon, live north of Atlanta, Georgia. They have two grown children.
